First Time

Zorra didn’t know how the hell she did it, but she managed to bring Falco home.  They hadn’t even been drinking or anything, which was the insane thing to her.  One minute, they’re hanging out without the rest of the gang, just joking around and bickering like usual.  The next, he’s tapping his foot as she’s trying to find the key to unlock her flat.

She had flopped down on her bed the moment she saw it, but Falco asked if he could use her bathroom.  She waved him off and continued to lay there until he came back.  He was taking his sweet time, and he was such a show-off that she figured he was doing something ridiculous like preening before they got on with it.  Whatever.  He could do what he wanted as long as he did her next.  To say she was excited was an understatement.  She hadn’t gotten laid in forever.  Since getting expelled, actually.  He seemed like a great way to end a dry spell.  There was just one tiny thing that concerned her though- Falco was an avian.  She was not.

Sure, she had been flirting with him since the very first time they butt heads.  There was something about that damn bird’s bad attitude that turned her on, but he was so aloof, she never thought she’d get anywhere.  Now that she had his attention and things had escalated, she realized she didn’t know how this would pan out.  She had heard a joke or two that birds and reptiles were different from mammals, but she did not know how different.  It wasn’t like Pops gave her this kind of talk; he didn’t give her any kind of talk.  She learned what she learned by acting out at the academy, and most of the guys there were canines.  Would they even be able to do anything together?

Surely, they had to have been able to if Falco was attempting it…  Unless he didn’t know either and was just as curious as her.  From what she had seen, he wasn’t the type to go for something if he wasn’t a thousand percent confident that the outcome was in his favor, so she didn’t believe that to be the case.  There was buzz that Falco and Katt had a fling before she joined the gang, but she never bothered to ask.  Felines and raccoons weren’t so different, so if they made it work, she could too.

“Corneria to Zorra.”

She zoned back in to a blur of blue waving in front of her eyes.  She hadn’t even realized he had wandered back into the room.

“You okay down there?” Falco asked, leaning over her.  “Looked like you were thinking real hard.”

“Yeah, I’m good.”  She rolled over to prop herself up on her elbow and pat the bed beside her.  “We doing this or not?”

“Damn, I knew you wanted me,” he laughed.  “Didn’t know it was that bad.”

“Don’t let it get to your head, Lombardi,” she said with a roll of her eyes.

“Already has.”

“Figures.”

Zorra sat up, and when she did, Falco seated himself beside her.  With him at her side, she found herself hesitating again.  She hoped she wasn’t coming across as some awkward virgin.  It wasn’t her first time, just her first time with a bird.  How was she supposed to get things going?  Usually making out and a little heavy petting set the scene, but could she even kiss him?  She had to be overthinking things.  He was just so cool that he made her nervous…  Not that he needed to know that she found him a little intimidating.

Thankfully, he took the lead and she just reacted.  He pulled her into his arms and buried his beak in the fur of her neck.  Maybe he couldn’t kiss, but he knew how to make whatever he was doing feel good.  His hands roamed her body, and hers did the same to his.  Clothes were tugged at; a few articles were removed.  Just as things were getting good, Falco lifted his head to speak.

“Hey…  One thing, Zor.”

“What is it?” she asked.  He better not say condoms.  She didn’t have any.  If she did, they had to be expired.  Besides, there was no way in hell they were compatible like that.

“Just don’t get attached.”

She had to look at him to see if it were a joke or not, but appeared that he wasn’t playing around.  She sucked her teeth at his audacity.  This guy was beyond cocky.  He was cute and all, but did he really think he had something that could make her fall in love with one fuck?

“I’m serious,” he said, taking his hands off her.  “I mean, I like you and all, even if you are a pain in my ass.”

Falco snorted as Zorra shoved him.

“Jackass!  Like you have any room to talk.”

“Geez, just said that so you know it’s nothing personal,” he said.  “You don’t seem like the clingy type or nothing, but the whole dating thing isn’t for me.  Falco Lombardi is a free bird, alright?  I plan on flyin’ solo ‘til the day I die.”

If it were anyone else, such arrogance would cause her to kick him out- but he wasn’t anyone.  He was the one pilot she respected, one of the only people in this galaxy that respected her, and one of the best friends she’d ever had… even if he was a total jackass who just so happened to be attractive.  She didn’t think she had a crush on him.  If she did, she sure as hell wouldn’t let him know so he could gloat about it.  He didn’t have to worry about her either way.  She had no intentions of clipping his wings.  It’s what made him the guy she admired.

“That makes two of us,” she confidently said.  “I don’t want you falling in love with me either, Lombardi.”

“I figured.  That’s why I like you,” he replied.  “If this works out, I’m game to fuck around as much as you want, as long as you don’t bring feelings into it.”

“Well, show me what you’ve got so I can know if it’s worth it,” she said as her claw traced a line down his feathered chest.  “I’ve yet to see anything worth worrying about.”

“You must love eating your own words, doncha?” Falco whispered to her after his beak found her neck again.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Sounds an awful lot like that boasting of yours before I flew circles around you.”

She scoffed and knocked away the hand that he had rested on her thigh.

“You have a few seconds to give me a reason not to kick you out.  I’m starting to think you’re chicken.”

“Yeah?”

The words hardly left her mouth before she was pinned down beneath him.  As he held her by her wrists, his knee nudged her legs apart and…

Oh.

Well

When he went to grind against her, it certainly felt like he had something she could work with down there.  Shit.  She was going to end up eating her words again.  That smug look on his face that she tried to avoid let her know he was sharing her thoughts exactly.  She hated this fucking bird.
